چکیده
ABSTRACT A 27-year-old healthy man with a history of bilateral photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) enhancement after femtosecond laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) presented decreased uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) 20/125 the right eye (OD) and 20/300 left (OS) six months PRK. Examination revealed dense subepithelial opacities. Both eyes (OU) were treated superficial combined phototherapeutic (PTK) adjunctive application mitomycin C 0.02%. At three follow up UDVA was 20/30 OD 20/25 OS. Superficial PTK seems to be safe efficient technique for treatment scar formation following PRK LASIK.

PURPOSE To report the clinical, confocal scan, and histopathologic features of nocardia keratitis in a patient who developed bilateral infection following photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). CASE REPORT A 23-year-old woman underwent bilateral PRK for low myopia. On postoperative day 3, dense central stromal infiltrates were noticed in both eyes. Empirical antibiotic therapy was initiated which...
متن کاملBilateral Macular Hole Following Myopic Photorefractive Keratectomy
A 42-year-old man was admitted to our clinic complaining of visual distortion in his left eye two months after bilateral myopic photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). Macular optical coherence tomography (OCT) showed a stage II macular hole in the left eye. Simultaneous OCT in the right eye showed vitreous traction and distortion of the outer retina. One month later, the patient underwent vitrectom...

Two patients developed corneal ectasia after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). Case 1 had evidence of early keratoconus preoperatively, with manifest refractions of -4.00 +2.50 x 160 (20/20) in the right eye and -7.00 +3.00 x 180 (20/30) in the left eye; thin corneas (472 microm and 441 microm, respectively); and inferior paracentral steepening in the right eye and central steepening in the le...

To the Editor: We thank Drs. Talamo and Abad and Mr. Lim (Refractive Regression after Excimer Laser Photorefractive Keratectomy.
